International Off-grid Renewable Energy Conference 2016

The 3rd International Off-grid Renewable Energy Conference (IOREC) was organized by IRENA, with the support of the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) and the Ministry of Energy.

The IOREC took place back-to-back with the SEED Africa Symposium (28-29 Sept 2016) and convened key stakeholders from across the off-grid renewable energy value chain, including the representatives from rural electrification agencies, ministries in charge of renewable energy development, the private sector, academia, financing institutions and international organisations.

Alongside IOREC 2016, ARE organized the Exhibition to give the private sector an opportunity to present its products and projects, and showcase the technologies and know-how at the forefront of off-grid renewables. The venue for the SEED Africa Symposium and IOREC 2016 is Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya.
