Global Green Growth Week 2017: Unlocking Africa’s Green Growth Potential

In partnership with the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) held Global Green Growth Week 2017 from 17 to 20 October in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. On the side-lines of the event, IRENA hosted a roundtable discussion for experts on the Agency’s research and survey findings regarding the mobilisation of institutional capital.

In collaboration with GGGI, IRENA co-hosted a session entitled, Financing Africa: Mobilizing local capital markets for renewable energy investment, which focused on how to mobilise local capital markets for renewable energy investment and showcased the growing importance of Africa-based institutional investors in financing green projects in Africa.
