Central Asia Renewable Energy Statistics Training

A three-day technical training on renewable energy statistics for energy statisticians from the Central Asia region took place from 25 to 27 September, in Abu Dhabi. The objective of the training was to improve the availability and quality of national renewable energy statistics.

Topics covered included:

• i) an introduction to energy statistics and energy balances;
• ii) assessment of data needs and capacity; iii) data collection and measurement techniques;
• iv) the IRENA questionnaire and statistical products;
• v) data dissemination;
• vi) the current status of renewable energy statistics in countries (country presentations).
