Less than one week before the second session of the Preparatory Commission will decide on crucial points such as the future interim headquarters, the Interim Director-General, the budget, and the work programme of IRENA, four more States joined the Agency. The Statute was signed by the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Germany, H.E. Tomislav Limov; the Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Germany, H.E. Mohammad Yusof Abu Bakar; and the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Germany, H.E. Alaa Abdulmajid Hussain Al-Hashimy. Furthermore, the Ambassador of the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya to Germany, H.E. Jamal Ali Omar El-Baraq, signed IRENA´s Founding Treaty. Mr. Thomas Meister, Head of Division for International Energy Policy at the German Federal Foreign Office, was present at the signings. While the new members hereby raise the number of IRENA´s Signatory States to 108, even more States intend to become members prior to the second session.
