IRENA is gaining momentum as more and more states join. Today, IRENA´s Founding Treaty was signed by the Charge d´Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda in Germany, Mr. James Ngango, the nonresident Ambassador of the Republic of Seychelles in Germany based in Paris, H.E. Claude Morel, the Ambassador of the Republic of Sierra Leone in Germany, H.E. Jongopie Siaka Stevens and the Ambassador of the Somali Republic in Germany, H.E. Mohamed M. Tifow. Mr. Thomas Meister, Head of Division for International Energy Policy at the German Federal Foreign Office, was present for the signings. IRENA now has 92 Signatories, representing almost half of the world, while more states are intending to join IRENA.
