After Bonn in 2004, Beijing in 2005 and Washington in 2008, New Delhi will host the fourth in the series of the International Renewable Energy Conferences.
This series was initiated at the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg, acknowledging the significance of renewable energies for sustainable development – especially for combating poverty and for environmental and climate protection. DIREC 2010 is an international platform for government, private sector, and civil society leaders to jointly address the goal of advancing renewable energy.
